About Us

“Art shouldn’t just imitate life, it should improve the quality of it.” -Marisol Meyer

Good Acts By Great Actors (GABGA) is a not for profit organization with one goal and that is to improve the lives of children around the world. It was founded by Marisol Meyer at the age of sixteen with the help of her peers at Coral Reef High School and with help from her home away from home, Miami Children’s Theater. Marisol has always loved children since her little brother was born and she was able to see what taking care of a child and watching one grow up was like. When she found out her cousin was autistic, she developed a new passion: caring for children with disabilities or disadvantages. Marisol has always thought childhood is one of the most beautiful things human life has to offer and should be cherished no matter what challenges arise. Every child, whether disabled, sick or at risk, should be able giggle on the playground with his or her friends and just enjoy the little things in life. Children should be able to look forward to tomorrow rather than worry about what obstacle tomorrow entails. Later on in her life, Marisol discovered a new passion: theater. She fell in love with how people from all different walks of life could connect through universal emotions, stories and struggles. Our organization uses the arts, primarily theater, to raise money for children with a disadvantage of some sort. GABGA makes sure 100% of its revenue goes directly to its charitable causes. GABGA’s is currently focusing on raising money for and helping children with Fragile X, helping improve the lives of children with cancer in the United States and Central America. At Good Acts By Great Actors we believe that art shouldn’t just imitate life, it should improve the quality of it.

An example of how GABGA is being recognized is the Fall edition of Montage Magazine. We are so proud to be recognized by such a fine institution and we are humbled by our association with the other community service projects also featured there.
